In the early hours of June 10, a series of powerful explosions and black smoke rose into the air. The "VNIIR-Progress" factory, which manufactures components for Russian weapons, was likely hit by a missile strike, reports "Focus".

Cheboksary is located approximately 1,000 kilometers from the border with Ukraine. OSINT channels reported a probable strike on the facility.

Footage circulating on Telegram channels shows thick black smoke rising over Cheboksary following the strikes.

The "VNIIR-Progress" plant in Cheboksary is part of the "ABS Elektro" production association. In particular, the company manufactures GNSS receivers and antennas for the GLONASS, GPS, and Galileo satellite systems for the Russian military, including "Kometa"-type modules.

In addition, the plant manufactures electrical equipment: circuit breakers, relays, and contactless modules, which are supplied to the Russian Navy after production.
